A vectorial 3D mode solver including a variety of calculation engines each optimized for different geometries. Suitable for all types of waveguides including multi-mode waveguides & fibers, high index structures (E.g SOI), metals, Graded Index, photonic crystal fibers and more.

FIMMPROP
Bi-directional 3D optical propagation software based on the EME (EigenMode Expansion) method. Typically faster and more accurate than FDTD and BPM for many devices, particularly for high index materials such as SOI components & III-V semiconductors. Suitable for the design of MMI, taper, directional coupler, grating, and fiber components among others.

CrystalWave
World-leading photonic crystal CAD developed from the ground up for photonic crystal design. OmniSim

Suitable for a wide variety of structures such as waveguide (E.g. ring resonators), LED, nano-structure design and much more. Cluster and multi-processor versions available.

PICWave
A photonic IC circuit simulator capable of modeling the interaction between both passive and active components using the TWTD (Travelling Wave Time Domain) method. Suitable for studying the interaction of optical components in a larger circuit as well as the design of individual active components such as Laser Diodes, SOAs, TWAs, Fabry-Perot, DFB & DBR lasers where PICWave can model gain switching, mode-locking, time resolved spectra and much more.

HAROLD
Detailed hetero-structure laser diode modeling. Including bandgap narrowing, quantum wells - capture/escape, recombination, strain, drift-diffusion, power dissipation effects. Can be used as a stand-alone product or complementary to PICWave.

KALLISTOS
Powerful optimization module tightly integrated with other Photon Design products that allows the user to automatically improve their existing designs with minimum intervention. KALLISTOS uses a selection of state of the art optimization techniques such as efficient local descent routines and deterministic global techniques to ensure that design cycle times are dramatically reduced.
