HAROLD Version 7.0: Introducing "k.p." Model to Enhance Quantum Well Simulation
The latest version of Photon Design's highly popular laser diode/SOA simulator, HAROLD, now includes a complete "k.p" model. This addition allows for the consideration of a full non-parabolic valence band structure in the calculation of gain, spontaneous emission, and carrier density in the quantum well region.
HAROLD Version 7.0 also includes the following features:
- Support for forward bias voltage in the Harold QCSE/EAM module.
- Complex version of the mode solver for modeling irreversible modes.
- Ability to edit boundary conditions in the HaroldXY mode solver.
- Improvement in solving the Schrödinger equation in quantum wells.
- Multiple bug fixes.
