OmniSim v8.1 Release
Created:
09 Sep 2024
This new release of OmniSim includes the following improvements to the FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) and FETD (Finite Element Time Domain) Engines.
FDTD Engine
- Implemented TF/SF excitors for FDTD calculations
- Enabled calibrated excitors in FDTD where sensor flux data can be plotted relative to the actual flux introduced by the excitor
- Beam excitors in the ZX-plane can now be tilted, and can be used in 2D FETD and FDTD calculations.
- Implemented rendered structure reuse for FDTD if the device has not been changed from a previous calculation
FETD Engine
- Chirp excitors may now be used in FETD calculations
- FETD sensor data can now also be plotted from the FETD calculator in addition to be plotted from the plot sensor data tool in the toolbar
- Implemented mesh reuse for FETD if the device has not been changed from a previous calculation
- Gain Spectra can now be imported as a single .gain file (for example exported from Harold) or as a single SciGraph of the gain spectra using the Dynamic Gain Material Generator.
GUI / Misc
- Optional automatic showing of the 3D View of the device
- Video capture is now supported in both FETD and FDTD calculations.
- CPU priority control is now supported in both FETD and FDTD calculations.
- Bug fixes
